Ah, this fairing is nice and smooth. Tomorrow, I will adapt it to the rear of the seat better. After this is complete I’ll do the detail work on both fairings and make the molds.
Whoever invented Bondo is a genius. It is so easy to shape and work with. I’ve used about 10 gallons so far.
The tooling resin that I use is isophthalic. It is heat and warp resistant. After the detail work is done, I’ll apply a sandable gel-coat, loaded with talc. This will make wet sanding the patterns easy and will serve as an excellent molding surface under a few coats of glossy PVA.
